How do I get to the top?
Google has a complex equation. No one outside of Google knows exactly what this equation is, but savvy programmers have come close enough to figure out ways to move your webpage up the list.1. Keyword density
When a web user types in a search in the Google page, Google sends out something called "spiders" to try and find websites with content that match the the words. Google awards points not on the number of words that match, but by the density of the words in the overall content of the page. A page that has the word "door" in it 20 times with a total of 100 words in the entire page (keyword density of 20%) will not get as many points as a page that has the word door in it 10 times with a total of 25 words on the entire page (keyword density of 40%). Google weeds out pages with incoherent grammar, making pages that include masked keywords or high numbers of keywords not used in proper sentences obsolete.2. One-way links
Google awards points to pages that have one way links from other websites. The higher the traffic to these websites, the more points are awarded to your page. The less one way links that this site has to other sites, the more points your page is awarded. The ideal is to get a one-way link from a high traffic site that has no other one-way links.Words in images or graphics
Google does not award points for text in images or graphics. When designing your site, it is good to keep this fact in mind.
